Flooring Update

     July 13, 2015 0 Comments

If you recall, we were going back and forth on flooring options for the main areas of the house. We decided on carpet for the basement, stairs and bonus room, but the hard surface flooring on the main floor and second floor was TBD. Well, decision made – we went with a commercial grade laminate by Armstrong. We purchased the flooring from Pearl Hardware, and couldn’t be happier with the end result.

The colour we chose is called Sea Wall. What’s nice about this laminate is that it comes with three different sizes of boards – 3″, 5″ and 7″. When installing the boards, a pattern is repeated (5″, 3″, 5″, 7″) and the result is beautiful. Install is also very simple and straight forward. With no nails or glue required, each board is simply clicked together and laid down. Overall, the ease of install, variety in widths and overall appearance of this floor made it the winner in our books.

Once all the furniture is in place and the rooms are properly staged, the flooring will truly shine. I like that it doesn’t try to look like hardwood. It has it’s own unique finish and colour variance. It’s a winner! More pictures of the final product will follow.
