Yikes! It’s been a little while since we’ve updated you on the house. December has flown by. Between holiday parties, meetings and appointments and house progress, the month has been a complete blur. To give you an idea of where we’re at with the house, let’s just say we give our framers, Limitless Construction, an A+ and you’ll be getting a walk-through video of the house and the layout in the next few days!
Before we get ahead of ourselves though, here’s the update on the garage.
As business owners of a business to business barter network, we have quite a few connections and know a few people. We met Karen, owner of PV Disposal, at the Spring Home Show last year and have remained in contact over the last few months. Karen is passionate about community projects and loves what we’re doing, so graciously allowed us to use one of her disposal bins for the duration of the project. We’re grateful for her services and would recommend her company to anyone requiring a disposal bin! Whether it’s for a renovation, new build or cleaning out a garage (*hint hint dad!*), PV Disposal is very quick to have a bin on site and have it emptied when requested.
With the bin on site, Safrane Construction and his crew tidied up the area and wrapped of their portion of the job! That’s right – the foundation work is complete. Woo hoo!
The forms came off once the concrete was solid. We missed when the concrete truck was on site, but it was the same process as the basement foundation walls. A concrete truck came on site and pumped concrete through an arm. There was an agitator to remove any bubbles and ensure the concrete was spread out evenly. The rebar reinforces the concrete and ensures that the garage foundation will last for decades to come.
Lastly, the neighbours excavated! Looks like a two-storey home will be going up beside the House Trade Built. Let’s just hope their colours don’t clash with ours 😉
