Permit Us to Build, please?

     July 17, 2014 2 Comments

Permits have been submitted!!! I told Dan to capture this milestone with a picture, but he forgot. Plus, he figured it’d be weird to ask the clerk to take a picture of him handing over a bunch of papers.

He went into the office all prepared with all the different certifications (HVAC, roof truss design, fireplace specs) required for a permit application, but forgot the actual house drawings in the car. Yep. So excited that he forgot the plans themselves. The clerk laughed and said it’s typically the other way around – people remember the drawings but none of the other paperwork.

Needless to say, we’re excited and are crossing our fingers that the permit is approved without any problems, in 3 weeks. We’ve been told 3 weeks by some, 2 months by others. We’re really hoping for the 3 week estimate to be true.

Don’t you worry though, I’ll pass the time thinking about more decor.

Wow, that’s a wide time range. 2 weeks to 2 months.
